Visit Sedona, Arizona

Updated: Jun 26, 2020

Sedona is my FAVORITE place in Arizona & is the perfect weekend or day-trip getaway. Located two hours north of Phoenix, Sedona is worldly known for its red rocks, the vortex, and the amazing outdoor adventures.

I always have Sedona recommendations ready for anyone visiting, so I thought I would share them with the whole internet!

BEST STAY | The Enchantment Resort

Stunning views wherever you look with exceptional service!

The Enchantment Resort, Sedona

BEST HIKES IN SEDONA

  • Devil’s Bridge: Most popular trail in sedona. It leads to a massive sandstone arch that people walk across for photos. The hike is 4 miles roundtrip, and it is relatively easy until the end when you have to get to the arch. This is a hike with amazing views. I recommend starting this hike early to get a parking spot and to avoid the crowds.

Devil's Bridge
  • Cathedral Rock: My personal favorite hike in Sedona especially during sunset! Cathedral Rock is a short but incredibly steep hike that will take you to the prettiest viewing point, which you have probably seen online-- it’s notorious for wedding pictures and engagements..HECK my brother got engaged up there (watch the youtube video)! This is a hike that will require you to do a little bouldering, but it’s accessible for most people. The parking area is small, so I recommend going early on a weekend, or even better during a weekday!

  • Soldier Pass: I love this hike because there are many spurs that lead to all sorts of trails, caves, and viewpoints. The main reason people go is for the “Devil’s Kitchen”, which is a large sinkhole a quarter mile away from the trailhead. It’s definitely worth checking out if you can find a parking spot. If you continue on you can find the 7 sacred pools!

  • "The Crack at Beaver Creek: The Crack' is a cliff jumper's dream, but it also offers something for everyone, with smooth rocks for sunbathing and shallow waters for sun bathing. To get to The Crack, it's about a 3.5-mile hike each way, making it slightly less popular than Sedona's more accessible swimming holes. While you only gain about 500 feet of elevation, the hot desert sun is what makes this hike tough - but the swimming hole makes it totally worth it.

FOOD | Best Eats in Sedona

  • The Hideaway House: My go-to eatery spot after hiking. The great views match the food (+ amazing happy hour), and not to mention it has such a relaxed homey feel!

  • Mariposa: This is more of a fine dining experience, so i recommend making reservations in advance. Mariposa is known for its South American-inspired menu, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an expansive outdoor patio deliver panoramic views of Sedona’s majestic red rocks from every table.

  • View 180: Located in The Enchantment Resort, and has won many awards for its drinks -- mostly wine!

  • Dahl & De Luca: The best Italian restaurant in Sedona! Side note: this does not have the outdoor views like the others listed above, but the food is TO DIE FOR!

  • Elote cafe: Popular with the locals! Elote Cafe is a Mexican restaurant that unfortunately does not offer reservations, but I promise it’s worth the wait! Beautiful view & all meals are made with farm FRESH ingredients!

Dessert: Black Cow Cafe (ice cream!) & Sedonuts

BEST THINGS TO DO IN SEDONA

  • Pink Jeep Tour: Not going to lie this tour screams “I’M A TOURIST” but I will admit it is a fun adventure that allows you to see areas of the red rocks that you can’t spot from the main road. I suggest you book the “Broken Arrow Tour”.

  • Hot Air Balloon Ride: the most beautiful, unforgettable, romantic, and eye-opening experience that I have ever done. This has been my favorite thing to do in Sedona, and it’s my number one recommendation for everyone visiting. We booked with Red Rock Balloons.

  • Wine Tour: Arizona has a strong wine community. Tours are private, personalized, and everything is included. I highly recommended booking “Sedona Wine Adventures” for all my wine lovers!

  • Cliff Jump at Beaver Creek:

  • Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village: Located in downtown Sedona this area has so many shops that sell Native American jewelry, art, clothes, and food. Try the Chai spot!

  • Spa pass at the enchantment: Sit back and relax at the best spa in all of Sedona. Need I say more?

  • Visit a Psychic: Sedona is full of inspiration & healing! Ever heard of the Sedona vortex? People from all over the world are drawn to the supposedly energy balanced vortexes. I’m too scared to go to a psychic, but If you’re into psychics, this is the place to do it!

  • Slide Rock State Park: Visiting in the summer? This is not a "must do", but if you're looking for a place to cool off, this is a place to swim! Slide rock is a state park that costs $20 per vehicle to visit, and was one of my favorite childhood memories.
