Welcome to Palm Springs-- my favorite SoCal city and in my opinion one of the most "Instagrammable" cities in California! From that famous pink door, to the golden hour desert landscape, and windmills galore there are so many Instagram-worthy spots that I decided to make a Palm Springs Instagram photo guide!

The Most Instagram Worthy Spots In Palm Springs
Joshua Tree
Okay, technically Joshua Tree isn’t in Palm Springs, but I highly recommend visiting this National Park if you’re in Palm Springs. Joshua tree is about an hour drive and costs $30 per vehicle to enter.
I have yet to go to Joshua Tree when it isn’t summer, so hiking has always been out of the picture; however, there are definitely many picturesque trails: Skull Rock, Arch Rock, and Key’s View to name a few.
The most magical time for pictures at Joshua Tree is at sunset, and anywhere you decide to pull off I can guarantee you will get a dreamy desert shot with the monumental Joshua Tree and boulder rock formations in the background.
One of my favorite specific Joshua Tree picture locations is Ryan Mountain.
The Iconic Windmill Farm

Be prepared to quite LITERALLY be blown away, your hair to be MESSY, and to find sand days later in crevices of your body you didn’t know existed. Tip: I don’t recommend wearing a mini dress that’ll fly up over your head and expose yourself (my rookie mistake). I do however recommend wearing knee high cowboy boots to reduce unwanted sand in your shoes, and a wide brim hat to fit the Palm Springs mood (just be prepared to hold it so your hat doesn’t fly away, also my rookie mistake)! I have had the best of luck shooting at sunset. You will get the best golden hour, glowy windmills, and silhouetted mountains.
That Pink Door
You can’t go to Palm Springs without taking in the mid-century modern architecture. This house in particular is famous for its large bubblegum pink door and blue agave plants. Just be aware that this is a private property, so be respectful!
Best Time: sunrise or sunset when the lighting isn’t too harsh. I was having a difficult time getting a picture at 2pm.

Moorten Botanical Garden
The plant lover in me went a little crazy here, and for good reason.. I mean just look at that gorgeous cactarium! The entrance is $5 per person, and there is no shortage of perfect picture spots! Besides the cactarium, which can get busy, I recommend taking a picture at the entrance pathway.
V Hotel | Elixir Pool Bar & Pool Lounges
The pool area is a must for pictures & their pool bar Elixir has the most picture perfect food and drinks! Be sure to stop by when they have their Saturday DJ pool party!
The Pool At Arrive Hotel
My phone ALWAYS eats first! For my Instagram foodies, the boho style tile makes for a beautiful colorful tablescape shot! This hotel is totally dog friendly so be sure to snag a pic with your pupper!
Salvation Mountain
There are always people here doing photoshoots and music videos! Salvation Mountain is a hidden gem in the middle of the desert. The “God is Love” painted mountain is filled with colors and is a great space for unique creativity!
Heads up: Due to Coronavirus the mountain is technically closed, so make sure to check openings before you take the 2 hour drive! Also, if you're visiting in the summer months don't get your hopes up that you'll be able to climb and explore the mountain. Due to the heat there will be signs saying to stay off the mountain to reduce paint cracking.
The Shops at Thirteen Forty Five
#pspinkwall ! Here you can expect vintage vibes with a mix of indigenous Mojave culture.
Plant lovers- Don’t forget to check out the backyard at the shops!
Not Pictured
Pink Cabana-Sands Hotel - An Instagram influencer heaven. Pink walls with vibrant cacti, a fun patterned vintage restaurant, and a black and white striped luxury pool scene.
Saguaro Hotel - If you love color this hotel is for you! The rainbow colors make this hotel one of the most Instagrammable hotels in all of Palm Springs.
The Parker Hotel - I found this through Instagram, and it’s basically a whole destination in itself! Imagine totally whimsical yet posh, colorful and full of delightful Instagram-worthy corners at every turn. The bright yellow lemonade stand is my favorite! Heads up: they do not allow photography with DSLR cameras - only iPhones or digital cameras.
Vintage Bikes - Riding a vintage bike is one of those “must do’s” while in Palm Springs, and if you don’t want to ride the bikes to feel like a true local, then the least you could do is pretend to ride the bike for a picture!
